Installation Process
Below is a basic overview of how we handle the turf installation process at Evergreen Grass Depot.
Every project using artificial turf grass will vary. Site and area prep recommendations are on a case by case basis depending on customer budget or ability to perform their own labor prior to bringing in a professional.

1. Preparing Turf Plan:
- The installer measures your area and calculates the turf needed, adding 3-5% overage for adjustments.
- Existing landscape is removed to a depth of 3-5", and the ground is sloped for proper drainage.
- Sub base is compacted and prepared for the next steps.
2. Building Base:
- They place 4-6” of 1⁄4” road base throughout the install area and shape it evenly.
- The base is watered and compacted using specialized equipment.
- Height adjustments are made for areas adjacent to concrete walkways or pavers.
3. Surfacing Project:
- Turf rolls are positioned carefully, ensuring minimal disruption to the base.
- We position the turf with fibers facing the desired direction and cut it precisely to fit edges.
4. Seaming Turf:
- Adjacent rolls are aligned, and excess backing is removed to ensure a seamless fit.
- Seam tape and glue are applied evenly, and turf pieces are joined together carefully.
5. Spiking Turf:
- Galvanized spikes are placed every 8-12” around the perimeter, ensuring a secure installation.
- Care is taken to avoid indentations in the base and maintain turf integrity.
6. Infilling Turf:
- Turf blades are brushed upright, and infill material is evenly spread using a drop spreader.
- High and low spots are adjusted as needed, and a [power] broom ensures infill penetration.
- They follow product recommendations for infill quantity and distribution.
7. Final Step:
- They inspect the area for any unevenness, clean surrounding areas, and lightly water the turf to remove dust.
